My sleep toolkit

The short list beside my bed

What I use, why I use it, and the reasons I might tell somebody to leave it alone.

MAGNESIUM

The magnesium in my evening routine

A simple tablet containing magnesium citrate and zinc. I explain exactly what it contains, what it cannot do, and why I include it.

Careful information for people already considering CBD

CBD 6000MG

The higher-strength Swiss Peak option

This is not a novice page. Stronger does not automatically mean better, and current UK precautionary guidance still matters.

Before buying anything

Look at the final hour of your day

Buying a bottle takes a minute. Ending work properly is usually harder.

I would check late caffeine, the amount of light in the room, whether the phone follows you into bed, and whether your mind has anywhere to put tomorrow's unfinished work. Those changes are free and they affect every night.

I use products when they fit an evening that already makes sense. I never want a collection so elaborate that missing one tablet becomes a new reason to worry about sleep.

A supplement can support a routine. It cannot replace one.

My first five checks

  1. Choose a realistic time for work to finish.
  2. Lower the brightest lights.
  3. Get outside and move during the day.
  4. Stand in the bedroom after dark and notice what is still bright or noisy.
  5. Repeat one short wind-down for a week before adding more.

The wind-down routine

Put each tool in its proper place.

Start with the system. Add a product only when you understand why it is there.
